I'VE GOT PLENTY TO BE THANKFUL FOR

Millions are still without health insurance. At one of these ridiculous town hall meetings a poor lady was heckled by a bunch of assholes when she told of her loved ones dying because they didn't have health insurance.
When I was young I remember the Vietnam peace talks. For months negotiators argued over the size and shape of the conference table. Apparently egos were more important than lives.
Congress fights over health insurance reform. Republicans obstruct and offer nothing. Democrats chip away at the bill to make it palatable to republicans that aren't going to vote for it anyway. In the end, who knows if a health insurance bill will pass or fail. But one thing for sure. Both sides will claim victory and egos will be stroked. Then as now, egos are more important than lives.

Truth,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I too, have a lot to be thankful for. I was in a war in SEA and on the streets of America and survived.

My dad, who passed away last year was a great man and I miss him, but I was fortunate to learn from him how to be a man.

I love my family and I'm fortunate they put up with me and still hang around and we'll eat together tomorrow. It doesn't get any better than that.

I am a proud American and I think we will reach a solution that at least is palatable to us. Not perfect, but OK. Eat and enjoy.

Good day sir.

Thanks again for your service LaOT.

I'm lucky that my Dad is still here with me.

I hope you're correct on a meaningful health care solution LaOT. I have my doubts that anything will get done until 2010. And that's onlt if the Nation sends more Democrats to Congress as a message to Obama to get this done and get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Law Teacher.

101; Happy gobble gobble. This will not be your or my last supper.[avatars]lol. For many in this country, and on the planet it will be a very meager supper. I hope and pray for the best, but i prepare for the worst. Keep your powder dry.

Happy Thanksgiving, Truth, and thank you for this sober reminder that we should always do the proper thing rather than the easy or gratifying one. And I encourage you to keep up the good work and keep up the good fight!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I lost my Mother, a great Patriot, in 2007. I still miss her but am father is still with us.

We will, I am sure, arrive at a solution to our health care problems. There are many in the center/right and center/left that eventually will prevail.

It is more important that we get it done right and the majority upports it and just getting it done.

And for those like Glenn Beck and others who point to Thomas Paine's Common Sense they should now this; Paine who was a strong advocate of limited government and saw government as a neccessary evil also believed that civil society had a responsibility to aid those who lacked the means to attend to their own welfare.

For those who may disbelieve this I suggest reading Paine's several works. I did, and I did as well.

A special thanks to you LoAT for you service.

Looks like words are even cheaper.

Achtung! Deutscher Spam (12:28 gestern).

Why are we importing spam from foreign countries? Shouldn't we be supporting the American spam industry?
