SUPREME COURT CALLS FOR A SUPREME LADY

Many of my conservative friends ask if me and my liberal friends feel somehow betrayed that after two years in the Senate, Barack Obama ran for President. What my conservative friends don't realize is that it was we who supported Barack Obama that told him to run for President.

I met then State Senator Obama at Clat Adams park in Quincy. I shook his hand after his electrifying speech. Asked him his position on gun owners rights. And told to run for president and we would all support him.

Two years later Senator Obama announced at the old State Capitol Building in Springfield, at the urging of so many like me, that he was running for President of the United States of America. For him not to have run would have been a disappointment to all of us that supported him.

Of all the decisions that have and will face President Obama throughout his term, few match the importance of selecting a Supreme Court Justice. President Obama, like myself, is widely respected for kindness. And he will kindly vet and interview many prospects. None will measure up to stature, toughness tempered with kind and gentleness, and dedication to our Nation and it's principles better than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Thank you for visiting. Your comments are welcome friends...

I think Hillary would be a great choice, but the rethugs will turn the conformation hearing into a TV extravaganza. A nasty, but fun Senate fight.

All the more reason to nominate Mrs. Clinton.

Even us kind and gentle dudes dig a good knock down drag out.

Hillary takes no prisoners. That would make her a great Supreme Court justice, as it would have made her a great Senate majority leader. But I have to say, given the hole dug for us by the Bush administration, right now, I think she may be exactly where we need her the most.

Agreed. I think she's doing quite well as SoS. Obama is almost assured of filling at least one more justice position after this one. I say consider her for the high court then.

I think Hillary Clinton carries too much political baggage to try and put her into a position like this. I think shes will be far more effective in the political arena and still has an important job to do as SoS.
I'm not sure of her political affiliation but I put forth Justice Barbara J. Pariente of Florida. She has an impressive record and bears consideration.

Bethie - The adults are trying to have a conversation here so take your lithium and crawl back under your rock. Just how old are you, 12?

Beth: "It’s sad that so many Americans have the mental disorder called ‘liberalism' ... "

Even more sad are your blanket statements and stereotyping of people about whom you know nothing; stereotyping as in ...

All blacks are ...
All Jews are ...
All Italians are ....
All Irish are ...

Stereotyping is the root of all bigotry, and your taunts that call liberals "racist" and "dumb" and "mental disorder" hardly neutralizes the bigotry of your statements. Inasmuch as your concept of civil exchange is little more than a drive-by shooting, just go away and close the door on your way out.

Mr. Kind and Gentle, may I address the subject of "trolls" for one minute.

All I can say is, you get some strange traffic on this blog of yous..
Yes I've seen many disruptive bloggers all over these boards, in fact my last blog was exactly bout this subject. Who knows who are to blame? The right say the left is to blame and the Left say it's the right that is to blame....
The few morons that show up daily on these blogs such as that pest Lynne and Beth are either nut jobs of as someone here just posted, 12 years old. Either could very well fit.
How does one become brainwashed to hate so much?

They lead ugly, empty lives, that's how.

Thank you

Mr. My Blog: My biggest problem with Beth and a few others is not their opinions. It's their constant posting and then removal of their posts. I have no animosity for name callers when they post why they think me or anyone else is said name. Just don't be outraged when someone on the other side calls them names.

I think everyone here is a wonderful person. Thank you all for stopping by.

I would love to see Hillary on the Supreme Court.

K&G,
I must disagree with your pick of HRC. Besides the political baggage, her judicial record is rather scarce. That would make her a political appointment and far be it that our president would make a political appointment (payoff?).

It was a wonderful experience posting on your site and I thank you for affording me the opportunity. Good day.

Roberts. Scalia. Thomas. Alito. Ginsberg. Heck. They're all political appointments to some degree. As a confirmed political hack, I appreciate rewarding supporters.

And thank you for stopping by Law and Order Teacher. You are a credit to the ranks of Conservative Bloggers.

John and My Blog, why don't you give it up already?
I already said what I wanted to say, and that's all I'm going to say. If you don't believe me, you know what you can do!
I already implicated myself in the original post.

I can see why you'd want her, but I doubt the offer will be made. After only a few months as SecState it would look bad to immediately switch. Even Democrats in the Senate would cry "opportunism," I guarantee you.

From my perspective she wouldn't be any worse though than anyone else he'd pick.

Law and Order Teacher does make a good point about her lack of judicial experience, but with 59 Dems in the Senate (+ Lieberman), and with that "Clinton" name, she'd be a shoo in anyway.

(O)ct(O)pus,

You quote Beth, who I assume to be the author of the deleted post here as follows:

Beth: "It’s sad that so many Americans have the mental disorder called ‘liberalism' ... "

I would just like to say in response to her, that I find it rather fortunate that so few Americans these days seem to have the mental disorder called 'conservatism.'

Like the swine flu, it never caught on the way we feared it might.

How can you nominate a LAIR to the Supreme Court? Don't you think that is kind of dumb?

I do.

I think her involvement with the Whitewater/cover-up/etc crime ring, which yielded a dozen convictions, and she only escaped conviction because she said she was above the law, disqualifies her for such a position of legal authority. Rocky is right: she has too much baggage. Appoint someone who was not involved in crime; someone who doesn't think that complying to a subpeona is optional.

" But I have to say, given the hole dug for us by the Bush administration"

More like bulldozing mountains and digging holes of her own.

We all have a little grease on Dmarks. When we find somebody that doesn't, then I will believe Rapture is near.

Thank you for stopping by.
