HOME SWEET HOMO

When a gay couple moved into my neighborhood awhile back, I quipped to a neighbor that it was good we finally had someone around here that knew how to pick out drapes. Of course he told someone else and it got back to the gay couple. I was chasing the dog down a few days later and stopped to say hi and welcome to them.

One of them asked if I liked their drapes and I knew I was in trouble. I pretended not to take the hint and said the drapes look very nice. I should have stopped there but I had to talk about my dog which I caught and was bringing back home. Thing's a part beagle, basset, lab, Christ knows what else dog pound mutt. Good dog though when he isn't getting away.

Anyway I told them I wanted a mutt and not some pansy looking poodle or something. Sure enough, they have a freaking poodle. We made about 90 seconds worth of small talk in which I proceeded to make a fool of myself another dozen times.

They got me back for my lack of good taste when one of them said he thought my powder blue van was a pretty color and asked where I got my hair styled.

Real men do not have hair that looks as if it has been "styled" nor do they drive pale blue (I believe the term is powder blue) cars...

Oh, and you think about drapes?

I have a lesbian couple that moved in next door....and now my wife and the couple next door are 'girlfriends' and my life has never been better!

TAO, I had my groomsmen wear "Powder Blue" tuxedos when I got married in the 70's.

They probably would have looked better in drapes!

You're talking to the original guy on the Brawny paper towel wrappers here TAO. Manly is my middle name. Flannel shirts and Old Spice are my manly calling cards.

Homos are not going to go away.

This is driving a wedge in between us and our fellow man.

This will make the world a harder place to live in - just like racism.

Sue,

I always thought homosexuality was about men getting too close...

Yeah, a son of an employee of mine got married last year and I tried like crazy to get him to go with one of the new 'retro' tux's as they are known now...pink, powder blue, and bright green...with the ruffle shirts. I told him that I would find a disco ball and some dry ice and I would provide the music!

Dave, we did drapes in the 70's to....at our toga parties, bet you didn't have one of those did you?

Ah, the memories! :)

Truth....beard, flannel shirt....you would be quite a catch! Might want to tone it down a bit...

Well, I have to go visit another blog where I have been pissing in the living room...

Tact has never been one of my strong points Sue. I've been able to avoid getting my ass kicked thanks to my manly charm.

Dave, I think that's the only color tux they had in the 70's because that's the color I wore to my prom. I looked divine, BTW.

TAO said...

I don't know...somehow I had a brown tux for prom....and for the life of me I have no earthly idea where it came from or how I got it....but it was ugly....

I have never met an “in your face” gay who wasn’t liberal and complaining about being a repressed liberal.
Help me out here. I am interested in your language, but I fail to comprehend what you are getting at here.

TAO said...

Ah, "John" its funny that you, the Wordsmith, and Bluepitbull, all pop up and start blogging this month...all say relatively the same thing, and its obvious that your profile pic and that of the Wordsmith aren't real...

So, your point is?

Listen To John said...

No big conspiracy TAO, I can assure you that. And I will be most happy to answer you. It’s not that complicated.
The truthful fact is.. that I have no idea about Wordsmith, and the Bluepitbull, but I have been commenting on blogs for a very long time without a blog of my own. Some people found it a problem because I would comment and they were not able to respond to me without a blog...so I recently created one.
So don’t try to find some inner theory when in reality none exists ........

As for my picture, no it is not me and again I can't answer for Wordsmith or Pittbull, but I never said it was me and I highly doubt that your picture is you as in most blog cases.
So what?

Listen To John said...

You asked" So, your point is?"

And what point are you referring to. I'm not trying to make any "point"

Oh, Truth, drapes...poodles...At least your neighbor took it all in stride. I live next to gay women. Although, it took awhile for me to figure out the one WAS a woman. My son, who was 4 when they moved in KNEW (s)he was a woman. He kept saying HER Sam. Amazing that little kids can see what's right in front of our eyes! Nevertheless, they are fantastic neighbors. You never know, Truth, you could end up the best of friends!

What is wrong with men that are well groomed?
And why should any of this bother you?
Live and let live I say.

JoMala "Truth 101" Kelly said...

I've made amends by loaning them my power washer a couple times.
They tall one still makes fun of my minivan.

And yeah TAO. Just cause I get my flannel shirts from Kohls and not Tractor Supply, or my hair is stylish is no reason to taunt me.

And if John or Blueptbull or Wordsmith want to come here and stir things up at least they're not out on the streets getting into trouble.

TAO said...

Ah, Truth, a liberal has a gay couple move in next door and you don't know what to say or how to act....

I have a lesbian couple move in and my wife thinks she found the kids we never had....

I know my wife has had to try to get them married off to guys more than once...

Glad I wasn't there for those conversations...of course they could sit over there and bad mouth men for all I know...

Girlfriends....

On haircuts...$10.00 and when they ask how you want it you say, "Short"

Then take what you can get...

JoMala "Truth 101" Kelly said...

I'll relay the story of my cousin's "significant other sometime." Suffice to say, there is no way being gay is a choice because there is no way anyone would choose to be with this ballbuster unless chromosomes demanded it.

SC Rebel said...

I could care less what gays decide to do. What goes on between consenting adults is their business. If the liberals boys want to put on the pink leotards, their magenta "I Love Bobo" tank tops, don their rollerblades and skate around snapping each other with wet towels, yelling "You're it, you silly savage!!!" so be it. If you want to focus on something focus on child abuse esp. in the priesthood.

Obama struck down the Bush administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information--The Bush policy had banned U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of Agency for International Development funds, from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion as a family planning method.

For me, Life begins at conception. It is something I am very passionate about. I campaigned for the National Right To Life Amendment and I believe we must protect the unborn from the activist judges and the liberals in Congress that have too often embraced an anti-life agenda.

America is still a white supremacist nation. Just about every fact from health care and education to number of times a person is stopped by the police favors/advantages whites.
If rich white men have not been ruling America, who has?
I respect Reverend Wright for addressing our past (and current) inequalities. And I praise and believe in Barack Obama for doing the incredibly bold and courageous act he is doing about the situation we find ourselves in today and for trying to lift the nation to a new place of unity and consciousness. His past may be with Wright, but clearly, he is trying to take the divisiveness of that past and bring us all beyond it. It's gotta be tough for him to do. It may be tough for us all. As Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright said: “White supremacy controls the economic system in America, the healthcare system in America and the educational system in America. Hurricane Katrina has pulled the blinders off of all Americans and shown us what white supremacy means”
I also think that most of Obama's white supporters especially some of the Hollywood whites are more racist than those who don't support them. A bunch of suburban turds who think if they vote for Obama they get to claim their not racists, they're cool. See!

I tried the buzz cut but my wife didn't like it. She who controls the booty also controls the grooming habits. And pretty much everything else.

Did I read you right? Did you say that "Nobody disses Gray Headed Brother in my house" in reply to that F****** Disgusting Racist post!
If it walks like a RACIST duck, quacks like a RACIST duck, and looks like a RACIST duck, its a RACIST duck.
And YOU are going to delete anyones response to it instead of deleting his RACIST comment !
Then that make you even worse than the FREAKEN IDIOT he is.
What kind of man would write a evil thing like that?
And what kind of man would defend him? It sounds as he was raised in the JUNGLE! This is sickening stuff and you should not allow it. Are a apologist for him just because he's a brother? I think that YOU are a spineless apologist and a coward..He has made filthy, disgusting, racist comments about white people and YOU have defended him and the trash that he wrote!

JoMala "Truth 101" Kelly said...

Tell you what Ney York Guy. I left your comment up because I wanted to answer it. Also because I find your ignorance amusing.

Gray Headed Brother has never advocated violence toward anyone. He has admonished people on his side of the discussion for comments he saw as vulgar and beneath the dignity of the issue.

I am more than happy to give a man that has lived through some real bad times caused by assholes that believed the darker a man's skin complexion, the less of a human being he was, a forum to tell his story.

It doesn't make up for all the shit that GHB and others of his ancestry put up with. But I believe it's the right thing to do.

Everyone is welcome to comment at Truth Shall Rule. If you think I'm an idiot give your reasons and I don't have a problem with it.

NO, I don't understand where you are coming from or where you are going to with the endorsement of an OLD FOOLS junk.
If he wants to promote racism (and he is) why do you have to endorse it and allow your blog to be filled with hatred. I don't care what he has seen, or where he comes from !! This is not then, it is now. How can we resolve anything if he promotes hatred with his dirty mouth and his vulgar terms. Why allow him to call white people the names he does when blacks don't want to be called names that insult them, and rightfully so. He and people like him and Al Sharpton are setting race relations back instead of advancing it.
The man is a joke to modern society and if he is so full of hatred, let him jump off a roof and get it over with. He would be doing a lot of us a big favor.
I thank everyone who stands up for his removal for the biosphere like the New York Guy above.

Thank you for allowing me to vent.

I believe that its more about the right to have the same opportunities as heterosexuals do than it is about participating in a religious ceremony. Marriage comes with certain legal implications that give each partner in the union proprietory rights and other benefits. This is not exactly the same thing as a 'civil union' because most states do not recognize civil unions and such a relationship is meaningless when it comes to certain legal and financial issues. Here's an example: if you cannot legally marry your partner you are not legally able to transfer ownership of your property to them if you die without incurring serious tax implications. A wife or husband in a traditional marriage doesn't have this issue.

Another example would be if you were to get into a civil union with a non-citizen. In such a case, you would not be legally able to apply for permanent residency for your partner and that person would not be able to stay in the US indefinitely with you without risking violating immigration laws that could get them deported. That person would have no right to be in the US except as a visitor on a temporary permit, and having such a permit doesn't necessarily mean that they will be allowed into the country or that they won't be asked to leave after they come here, so your ability to live together as a couple would be challenged. Again heterosexual citizens who marry a non-citizen doesn't have to worry about this issue
