The Obama victory was also a victory for intelligence and common sense.
Since I was born, the political discourse in our Country has been steadily dumbed down.
If a candidate voted against a useless new battleship his opponent said he voted against our Troops. Any yes vote on a budget makes one a big spender. A vote against assault weapons is a vote against freedom loving gun owners. List goes on and on.
Barack Obama gave answers that showed his grasp and command of issues. He showed caution and a willingness to learn all sides before reaching a decision.
Most of the right wingers are making silly and negative predictions about the Obama Presidency. Much like Bush, these people don't care about facts and gathering information. They're just mad because their guy lost.
91% of Americans rallied around President Bush after the 911 attack. We're in a hell of a mess now also. I hope those that hate decide to rally around our new President when he is inaugurated today. You will have four years to get pissed off at him about something. Surely you can stop being mad for six months.

Hey Mr. TRUTH SHALL RULE, you wouldn't know the TRUTH if it bit you in your fat ass.
For 95 percent of the Black to vote for a man ONLY because he is Black shows me one thing and one thing only. That this man hasn't a clue on how to run this country or to even pick his own administration. Thus picking all the old Clinton people, the same people that sat around while Budda got his rocks off while the country was going to hell in a hand basket and Osama Bin Ladin was having a field day here.
This election proves that the man elected president was judged by the color of his skin rather than the content of his character. There are those who believe this is progress I believe that the country was duped.
And don't forget how many White Libs voted for I saw a picture of one older black woman holding a sign saying 'G D America' in the words of Jeremiah Wright. Before the election. This is black racism in its ugliest form. Oh I forgot, there is no such thing as Black racism.
Hmm, then what was that thing all about when the black panthers were guarding the polling place with billy clubs?
As for me, I'm stil in a wait and see mode concerning Obama. So far, he seems to be encouraging bi-partisanship. I never want to see again an American president treated like YOU libs treated President Bush. I happen to respect the office, not like some others I see and hear and READ
Well look at it this way if it assuages you Private Line. There were millions of white people that didn't vote for President Obama because he is black.
I didn't know there were any Black Panthers any more. And buddy, for you to complain about the way Bush was treated after the swift boating his campaign did exposes you for the deluded right wing fool you are.
At least you show the wisdom to reserve judgement on President Obama. I salute you for that. Now to mute the television. Aretha Franklin is butchering America the Beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by Private Line.
A statement on the website of the New Black Panther Party stated tersely that the Philadelphia chapter of the party "is suspended from operations and is not recognized … until further notice."
"The New Black Panther Party has never, and never will, condone or promote the carrying of nightsticks or any kind of weapon at any polling place. Such actions that were taken were purely the individual actions of Samir Shabazz and not in any way representative or connected to the New Black Panther Party," the statement said.
"On that day November 4th, Samir Shabazz acted purely on his own will and in complete contradiction to the code and conduct of a member of our organization. We don't believe in what he did and did not tell him to do what he did, he moved on his own instructions," the organization said.
So these were a few loose cannons acting in a manner contrary to their organization's edict.
As it was at one polling place in one city and was quickly quelled by the police, it hardly counts as some sort of wide spread conspiracy.
I imagine you are not old enough to remember and do not care enough to learn your history. You want to talk about racism and bigotry?
How about the three civil rights workers murdered in MS in 1964 by Klansmen? One was black, two were white and Jewish.
Human beings treated like animals, made to feel inferior, blocked from enjoying the same freedoms and opportunities as their white counterparts; what right do they have to feel a little bitter?
It is the right of every American to be able to disagree with their current administration and to deride their actions - it's called Freedom of Speech - much like the right expressed during the Clinton administration.
As for respecting the office of president, I won't hold my breath waiting for all you righties to get on board.
Truth, you realize this is probably a new persona for one of the same old trolls...
I am happy to provide Truth and wisdom to all. Even if they seek it anonymously Rocknc.
No response to my offer of proof, as you requested on the other thread, Private?
No explanation of where you're from, or why you're here?
Why am I not surprised?
No matter... On to your current tripe.
For 95 percent of the Black to vote for a man ONLY because he is Black shows me one thing and one thing only. That this man hasn't a clue on how to run this country or to even pick his own administration.
What makes you think 95% of "the Black" did any such thing? Maybe 95% of the Black prefers his policies.
And even assuming you were right about why the Black voted for Obama, how does that vote show you anything about Obama himself, his ability to run the country, or even (even?) pick his own administration.?
Private, I could go on & ask you about pretty much every one of your odd views and the reasons you claim for holding them --
("This election proves that the man elected president was judged by the color of his skin rather than the content of his character." Does it really? Explain how, since you've offered nothing in support of your view that anyone voted for Obama because he was black...)
-- but since you didn't reply last time, I fear you wouldn't this time, either, and would instead spout off on some new topic, offering just as much unsubstantiated claim & flawed reasoning. --
("Oh I forgot, there is no such thing as Black racism." ...And this was said where, exactly? Oh, it wasn't. Not here, at least. You're either making it up out of whole cloth, or finding one crazy lib somewhere who said it, & generalizing that every lib everywhere thus believes it. Brilliant.)
If you come back with something--anything--intelligent in reply, I'll be glad to discuss it with you. If all you intend to offer is more of this same nonsense and name calling--(not so much of the latter in this thread so far, but your initial forays into the sites I frequent was full of 'em, and not much else)--I just have no use for you.
