RICH REPUBLICANS JEALOUS OF FOOD STAMPS

Being an active participant in several discussions on health care reform has given me great insight into the right wing mind. It narrows down to them just being selfish.
Allow me to explain. The right demands tax cuts. They tell us nonsense about how cutting taxes raises taxes. Then they go into their spin about how lower taxes didn't lead to deficits. It was spending the money that wasn't collected even though more was collected when taxes were lowered. Eventually they also get confused and resort to calling people like me that call them on their nonsense commies.,pinkos and socialists.
Funny how the lion's share of their tax cuts go to the wealthiest of them. How about that. But this goes to prove my premise even further. Like it or not, anyone who describes himself as a republican and living anything but an upper class existence is a dupe.
Let me go even further. A big worry the right has with national health insurance is that illegal aliens will get treated on taxpayer dollars. The poor will get free health care. Think about what these right wingers are really saying. They are jealous of the poor and illegal aliens because they might get something free. It's a weird form of reverse class envy.
Now I've advocated for my single payer plan for two years. First as THE ORACLE. Now as Truth 101. I have graciously compromised with several right leaning bloggers who gave excellent suggestions to make this plan stronger. But the one thing I've done is propose a payroll tax and deductibles precisely so everyone will contribute to the system. For most of us with health insurance, this would be at worst a revenue neutral situation but the burden of health insurance would be lifted from business. Instead of embracing this plan in which even the lower wage earners contribute, the right pillories it. Even when a plan is submitted that has the poor pay they still complain.
It's time to stop worrying about people with little to nothing getting something "free." If the price of free health care and food stamps is poverty, they're the ones with the bad deal.

AMERICA'S LOSS IS HEAVEN'S GAIN. MAY GOD BLESS YOU SENATOR KENNEDY

I can't think of a better way to remember Senator Kennedy than by relating a story of how my Dad met him years ago.
My Mom was a born and bred Massachusetts Kennedy Democrat. She always told us that JFK, Bobby and Ted dedicated their lives fighting for the little guys.
My Dad was at a conference while he was still mayor of our small city years ago and Ted Kennedy was there. Afterwards Senator Kennedy was also at the same restaurant Dad was at. Dad knew Mom would be thrilled to hear that he met Senator Kennedy so Dad mustered up his courage and went over to his table, introduced himself and told him about my Mom being a Massachusetts Kennedy Democrat. Senator Kennedy listened patiently, all the while his table was full of big shots waiting while the Mayor of a small Midwestern city was taking up his time. Senator Kennedy gave Dad his autograph and Dad went back to his table.
A few minutes later Dad thought there is no way Mom would believe this is Senator Kennedy's autograph. So he got a photographer and went back to see the Senator again. He asked Senator Kennedy if he would mind a picture taken of him and Dad so Mom would believe it.
The Senator stopped what he was doing and they got their picture taken.
Dad's back at his table and the photographer comes to him and says sorry Mayor. The picture didn't turn out. So dad has to go back to Senator Kennedy again. He gets to his table and before he can say anything Senator Kennedy looks up at him and says "what the hell do you want now?"
Dad explained that the picture didn't turn out and if Senator Kennedy would mind another try. The Senator said he would if you would leave me alone. So dad got his picture finally. It's displayed in his office and he tells the story of how he met Senator Kennedy to everyone that visits.
And that's one of the reasons we can all admire Senator Edward Kennedy. One of the most powerful people in America. He's out having dinner with people far more important than most of us. His time is at a premium. And he still interrupts what he's doing so a guy he never met and will never see again can have a picture taken to show his wife.
Not just Democrats. Not just the people of Massachusetts. Not just the Senate. We all lost a great man and great American. I know my Mom is probably interrupting Senator Kennedy right now. And he's glad to be interrupted.

TRUTH 101- CHRISTIAN. PATRIOT

While the enemies of truth spew their venomous attacks, I continue my struggle to bring affordable health care to all Americans. Bring our brave Troops home from ill planned occupations. And other All American, patriotic Christian stuff.

While Truth 101 supports paying more tax to save the burden of our generations reckless spending from succeeding generations. And support the programs that serve our Nation, my detractors defend the spend and borrow policies of the previous administration. They unpatriotically, and most certainly unChristianly demand their taxes not increase despite occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan that they support have drained our treasury and dig our Great nation further into financial abyss.

While millions suffer without health insurance, these deluded right wing fools chant right wing vitriol that we can't afford to insure their fellow Americans. They insult Jesus and our Founding Fathers by putting their wallets ahead of the health and well being of their Countrymen. Yet they demand the occupations foreign lands be funded.

The unChristian Right faithfully attends church every Sunday. They shake hands with the preacher and show off their wholesome looking families all dressed up and looking sanctimonious. Over Sunday brunch these same God fearing knaves demand our nation torture anyone that might look like a terrorist. (Arab)

Just as our Saviour, Jesus, endured the taunts and venom of the deluded fools 2000 years ago, I also shall endure the vitriol of today's deluded fools. Just as our Founding Fathers toiled to form a more perfect union, I shall also toil.

Jesus and the Founding Fathers would want it this way.

A GREAT NATION DESERVES A GREAT HEALTH CARE PLAN

The word is that President Obama is tired of no progress on health insurance reform. He's said everything is on the table to the chagrin of his Party. He's been on the circuit debunking the bull that is being spread about the 1,100 pages that is really nothing more than a few dead trees.
In September an up or down vote will supposedly be called. It will be a party line vote. A few Republicans may cross over. A few Democrats may also. Who cares. It probably isn't going anywhere anyway. This just gives both sides more nonsense to throw at each other as to why there is no health care reform.
Bipartisanship is over rated anyway. It got us into an invasion and occupation of Iraq from which there is seemingly no end. Whenever a vote comes up to stop funding the occupation Congress bipartisanly votes to keep it going.
A particularly silly example of bipartisan idiocy was the No Child Left Behind bill. Bush. Kennedy and all the rest of them stood on a stage congratulating each other on the wonderful bipartisan thing they just did to save our children. They got them tested anyway. Shock of shocks. Kids from inner city schools and broken homes didn't test as well. But bipartisanship won the day and our children continue to be tested. I don't know if any of them are doing better because Bush and Kennedy got a great photo op.
There comes a time when the bowl is full and you have to flush. Why wait until September. The Nation voted for change. The Republicans will not be part of it. At least not openly. They have to remain the loyal opposition. Get to work now on a universal health insurance bill and bring that to a vote this September. Or whenever it's ready. October. November. Who cares as long as it's right.
President Obama's poll numbers are down because he's not governing like a Democrat. He's losing many in the Party and many Independents that voted for change because he's working for the unrealistic goal of unity and bipartisanship. Bipartisanship is all well and good when the enemy is a foreign invader. The enemy now is fear of change. Millions have no health insurance and for some reason, they fear having it under a system they aren't familiar with.
We are America. We can make this system better than any other country's. We can make our businesses more competitive by removing the burden of health insurance expense from them and all of us sharing it. This is our time to stand together and show the world we care about each other. We will not be fooled by those that would cry out the word "socialism" every time a new idea is spoken. Selfishness and unchecked greed do not become our Great Nation.

REDUNDANT? WHO, ME?

As loathe as I am to poke fun at my deluded right wing counterparts, I can't help myself. It's almost as if they conspire to make me comment on their foolish behaviors.
My good friend Pamela of the fine blog, Oracular Opinion, most recent speak is telling her friends about and exciting new blog dedicated to bashing liberals. It's called Bash Liberals, or something like that.
Like they needed yet another blog they could all join and congratulate each others latest attack on me, Shaw, or one of our other Liberal Brothers and Sisters.
A common theme going on amongst the righties now is acting offended that the idiot woman who used the nazi comparison when asking Barney Frank a question was appropriately answered. The woman deserved no respect. She got the answer she deserved.
I figure one of the righties will visit here in defiance of Bluepitbull's orders and copy and paste this to the new rightie site. All the righties will be up in arms and call me every name in the book because I had the gall to call an idiot an idiot. So as long as I'm pissing off a few righties, might as well go all in for old times sake:
GRAY HEADED BROTHER GRAY HEADED BROTHER GRAY HEADED BROTHER
Thank you for visiting Truth Shall Rule...

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

In times of crisis the American People come together. World Wars. Economic crisis. 911. The assassinations of Presidents.
We're in a crisis now. The crisis of how millions will be able to pay for health care. Far too many of us don't consider this a crisis because we have health insurance. It's not our problem. Just tell the uninsured to find another job or get a second job. Take better care of themselves.
Well friends, it is our problem. For all the rugged and manly talk of individualism and liberty, we seem to forget that the name of our Nation is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Our mission is to live up to our name. We must unite. Every day the number of uninsured increases. Most Americans are good, hard working people. When forced, they will sacrifice. This means many of the unlucky get sick and don't go to the doctor because they are trying to save a few bucks. What may have been cured with a shot or a pill, turns into something far worse because it wasn't treated early. They finally go to the doctor. The bills are huge and your states public aid dept. pays them. Or bankruptcy is filed and the hospital is stuck.
We've all heard the speech from a coach about there being no "I' in team. If we're all willing to bust our asses to make our team better, why not our Country. Single payer health insurance makes our Nation stronger. It makes our business more competitive. It insures that our health care providers are paid.
Tomorrow morning the health insurance crisis will hit a few thousand more workers when they're told by their employers that they can no longer afford health insurance benefits. It's time we united and put a stop to this preventable tragedy that happens every day. We can do this through single payer health insurance.

TIGER WOODS IS ON THE PRECIPICE

Golf has always been as serious a subject to me as politics. So what happened at the PGA takes precedence over the other issues of the day.

There are a hundred guys on the tour that hit the ball as well and practice just as hard. Maybe more than that. But there is a constant among good players. They all are great putters and they expect to make every putt.

I haven't seen that from Tiger this year. His stroke, when he was at his best came from his torso. Since then it has shifted alternately from his shoulders to his arms and back to his shoulders. When grooved, the torso stroke is the best. You can't miss your line or miss hit the ball. But it takes hours to groove. Maybe with the two kids he doesn't have time.

This happened to almost all the great players. Eventually there comes a point when you just don't think you're going to make them all and you get defensive. It happened to Palmer. Watson. Hogan. Snead. Even Nicklaus finally.

Without that confidence, Tiger will still win his share of tournaments. But his victories will be hard fought because he won't be able to separate himself from the field like he could.

This may be good for golf though.
