A Sad Day for Humor on Wall Street
I just read some bad news about Spain's giant bank, Banco Santander. Not that it's going bust or anything like that. It has branches all over the world and although it's stock price is depressed, it should be fine unless Spaniards get pissed over austerity measures forced on Spain and a bunch of commies take power and nationalize it.
The sad news is that Banco Santander is changing it's stock ticker symbol this June. It's current symbol is STD.
And that was the only reason I followed Banco Santander. Just thought it was funny seeing STD on my portfolio trackers.
Now some do gooder assholes have shamed STD into changing it's symbol. Damn shame that as sleazy as Wall Street is, they couldn't just let this one be.
Bastards!

STD = standard...what's wrong with that?
Ah shit. I thought it stood for sexually transmitted disease.
I guess this wasn't that funny.
No, no, no. Sorry, I was being a smart ass. It was quite funny. Well, maybe not quite funny, but funny, and I did read it in the way you intended...at first. And really, I was more making fun of whomever changed it, because it could also mean standard, except of course to a deviant mind. Er, ah...never mind.
There's a lesson here for all of us JJ. STD's and farts, while funny, should not be made light of.
From Stephen King, STD means severe tire damage. Like when you back up over one of those "metal lower jar of shark" things just after you drive forward into a rental car rturn area.
And yes the post is funny.
Nothing is sacred anymore.
Too many unprotected screwings of its customers perhaps?
...unprotected screwings of its customers...
What you bitching about? Sounds like pure capitalism to me.
I think the post is funny as hell Truth!
Chuckling.
Truth - Great post.
I hate to be a whiner - and this may be my last transmission - but the slimey bastard somehow got blogger to block me from writing any more posts.
How about them apples.
Pray for me - Truth.
