Sorry for my lack of posts lately. Been busy.
Sorry I have nothing worth noting about the Iowa Caucuses either. They're all liars and assholes. Newt Gingrich agrees with me.
Whether they want to admit it or not, everyone agrees with me. Good sense is my shield and truth is my sword. 2012 will not be a good year for the deluded right wing fools and their masters if I have anything to do with it.
President Obama will crush his opponent this November. Democrats will win the House. Truth 101 will continue his crusade of truth and wisdom. And drink beer.

Joe - What I'm wonderin' - is why Rick Santorum is even in the race -still.
"Joe - What I'm wonderin' - is why Rick Santorum is even in the race -still."
Apparently, a lot of people admire talking barnacles.
I'm wondering what the people that vote for him are thinking Sue.
In a twisted way I can understand voting for Ron Paul. He's different and going to lose anyway so at least you can vote and not be blamed if he screws up. But any of the others?
WTF is wrong with these people?
"Talking barnacle." He he.
Shaw - Aren't barnacles those things that are on the bottom of ships.
And didn't they used to do something mean called 'keelhauling' in the old Moby Dick days?
kinda like waterboarding?
I have to confess I stole the idea of the barnacle from Capt. Fogg over at The Swash Zone. He commented that Santorum is less intelligent than a barnacle. LOL!
Joe - Let me put it another way:
I haven't had this sick feeling since I thought that SP would actually make a run for the
WH.
It's called 'desperation politics'
And can it work?
To quote Bill Maher when he was asked by Piers Morgan if SP could become President:
'Absolutely.'
and Bill went on to say that when he was 12 there was an actor who was considering running for the Presidency.
Bill then remarked...
'I belive he did become President.'
Truth, wisdom, and beer...the three pillars of...something? Whoops, maybe I've had a little too much beer.
Truth,
Iowa was a real report card of the Republican Party:
Ron Paul and his supporters need to just accept the fact that the Republicans don't want you, so start your own party.
Social conservatives are still a dominate force in the Republican Party.
Tea Party? Remember that grassroots movement? The one that brought Michelle Bachmann her 15 minutes of fame? Well, since Freedom Watch isn't providing bus fare and meal tickets that bunch has all but disappeared.
All the fighting and bickering, all the talk about taking back "our" party amongst all the various clans within the republican party and guess what? RINO's rule!
Sadly, Mittens spent millions this year to capture the same amount of votes he got in Iowa in 2008...but he did get McCain's endorsement today!
So, in a nutshell, all these bloggers and all the groups that developed on the right after the election of Obama in 2008 haven't changed a thing within the Republican Party!
It really is a shame, the US Chamber of Commerce said after the 2010 election that they were not going to campaign against Obama in 2012 and it looks like the Republican Party is following along....
McCain endorses Romney...how apt!
Mitt spent what, 4 million to win Iowa by eight votes. Out of all the people in Iowa only 110,000 even showed up for the republican caucuses.
The other question that needs to be asked is why does anyone give a shit about Iowa?
Now Mitt will win NH but he may only win that one barely over Huntsman.
As one deluded unprincipled party and its hacks attempts to crush their twin deluded unprincipled opponent and its hacks.
Pull up a seat, grab a beer, wine, cocktail, and or a beautiful sexy lady or hot guy and watch the circus.
There is definitely something about the universality of liars.
BUT WHO'S COUNTING?
Yup, for once I'll go on record as saying TA has a point.
"So, in a nutshell, all these bloggers and all the groups that developed on the right after the election of Obama in 2008 haven't changed a thing within the Republican Party!"
Time to join the Libertarian party or start an entirely new one.
Like it would make a difference...
"Rational" Nation: Time to join the Libertarian party or start an entirely new one. Like it would make a difference...
If Libertarians and Libertarian leaning-Republicans voted for the Libertarian presidential candidate en masse in 2012 I think it could make a huge difference. The difference being a splitting of the Republican vote which would hand Obama an easy victory. I'd support that 110 percent!
And I support barnacles 100%!
Ohhhh, is that meaningless caucus over already? Yawn - who really cares anyway?
We're with Jon Huntsman on this Jack. I don't care either. other than Romney is showing his idiocy for thinking 4 million dollar, eight vote victory over a guy who is in his 15 minutes of fame is a wonderful thing. 75% of republicans that bothered to vote voted agaisnt him. About a million Iowa republicans didn't bother voting for any of them.
And I suspect that there will be millions of republicans that won't vote for the final republican candidate either. These guys are all niche politicians.
wd - Bravo, you got my point. For this and perhaps the foreseeable future. Although I'm quite sure your scope is limited. Failure to think beypnd your hide bound democratic doctrine and dogma is your limiter.
Depending on your political bent you've been complimented and insulted WD.
You going to take that off this radical extremist independent conservative libertarian classical liberal democrat Whirling Dervish?
Truth - ;) what can I say?
Other than truth is found in many places.
An active inquisitive mind is the only pre-requisite.
'truth is found in many places'
But the real Truth is found here
Right Sue, spoken as a true " truthie."
Very reminiscent of the rock star groupie.
How endearingly loyal to the hide bound ideology of the...
Ah hell truth 101, I'll leave it to you to male your own ideological call dude.
he grins as he sees the following words,
"They're all liars and assholes. Newt Gingrich agrees with me."
let's see, Newt was a member of that small collective that Joe refers to as liars and assholes. therefore that makes Newt a liar and asshole himself. so, if Newt agrees with Joe that makes Joe the source of Newt's lies thus making Joe an even bigger liar and asshole.
that's the biggest problem with your collective ideas, Joe. they unintentionally come back and bite you in the ass.
As usual you make perfect sense Griper. Who could argue that Newt should read Truth 101.
Iowa Caucuses Truth/ Joe? ... here Guy ... a list below of 10 key factor's in assessing this diverse selection of candidate's, what they offer and their proposal's, accomplishment's, leadership qualities, etc

You've summed up their platform well Ranch Chimp.
Not agreeing with a platform Does Not mean there is no platform...
It merely provide fodder for us all...
Plank #1: Cut taxes on the wealthy (but call them "job creators"... and dupe lower income people into believing this will somehow help them).
Plank #2: Vilify lower income people in need of help (due to this recession caused by Republican-championed deregulation). Imply they are lazy freeloaders who just need to "get a job" (even though they're aren't enough for the number of people looking). Also suggest unemployment insurance causes these lazy freeloaders to not look for jobs because they'd rather be paid to sit on their asses and watch TV.
Plank 3 to ?: More scapegoating of those of us in the 99 percent and "illegal immigrants" in an attempt to divert attention from those who are ripping us off... The bansters that crashed our economy, the illegal employers that hire non-citizens, and the one percent keeping us down (by underpaying America's workers, outsourcing our jobs, and buying off politicians so they don't have to pay their fair share in taxes).
wd - So what exactly is the plank you stand on?
Oh yeah, that's right, 1) manna for everybody free, compliments of the govt. 2) continued class warfare rhetoric, 3) pander to those who admire government as their savior, 4)more manna... 5)continue circular motion.
See wd, anybody can play at that game. Hell, seems everybody already is.
And the beat does on.
dervish,
let'stake a close look at your argument that you just presented above.
1. "Cut taxes on the wealthy (but call them "job creators"... and dupe lower income people into believing this will somehow help them)."
question:
if the wealthy are not the job creators then who are the job creators?
2."Vilify lower income people in need of help (due to this recession caused by Republican-championed deregulation)."
conclusion:
an admission that the lower income people do not need help during time when we are not in recession.
"Imply they are lazy freeloaders who just need to "get a job" (even though they're aren't enough for the number of people looking)."
conclusion:
an accusation that they are lazy freeloaders in times when there are enough for the number of people looking.
"More scapegoating of those of us in the 99 percent and "illegal immigrants" in an attempt to divert attention from those who are ripping us off..."
"...the illegal employers that hire non-citizens,..."
well, what are these persons? either they are illegal aliens thus legal emplyers or non-citizens thus illegal employers?
if they be illegal aliens then pick them up and deport them as they should be. if it is illegal employers then that business is illegal thus shut down that business.
i'll let you choose the solution
Les,
You disappoint me.
Oh yeah, that's right, 1) manna for everybody free, compliments of the govt. 2) continued class warfare rhetoric, 3) pander to those who admire government as their savior, 4)more manna... 5)continue circular motion.
How is this any different a mischaracterization than what the FOX(R) propaganda network spews?
This sounds exactly like pure Republican claptrap, and nothing like a rational independent.
All that's missing is the "take our country back from the godless commies” hysteria.
By contrast, wd's points are quite reality oriented and easily verified.
Like "death panels" and "government takeover of health care", "Job creators" is the Frank Luntz/GOP propaganda deception of the year. Not all aristocrats are job creators. And governments create jobs. You may not like that, but it's the truth.
What say you oh, Truthful One?
WD,
Right on.
Griper,
Illogical, presumptive and fallacious. Look them up, I have no time to educate you.
Dave - Forgive what I am sure you find my egregious excess.
I was having fun. The response was specifically targeting wd's comment which I believe is not much more than platitudes from the far left.
Each to their conclusion.
I DO anxiously await wd's response to the griper's more serious approach and QUESTIONS for the wd.
Dave,
i'd respond but i also have no time to educate you on the use of logic either.
Griper,
Ha.
One day Griper will respond with an original thought. Till then I'll take his repeating of everything I or someone else says as a compliment.
You can do better Griper.
Truth - Are there really any original thoughts? I mean outside of scientific research and or theory?
Most of politics, governance, and economics is just old hat regurgitated with a different twist.
Wouldn't you agree?
I'm Back!
I took a break working as a campaign manager getting a conservative Republican elected in Virginia. We crushed our liberal Democrat opponent 63-37 percent.
But enough of that.
You may well be right, Truth, in that Obama will most likely prevail. Not because he is strong, but because the Republicans are weak.
I find myself in the unenviable position of having endorsed Mitt Romney because I think he stands the best chance. He's not nearly as conservative as I'd like, but he'll do. His problem is the same as McCain's in that the Republican/conservative base does not like him. Picking a Tea Party type running mate will help, but not entirely.
Santorum is my second choice. I like his social conservatism, but recognize that it will not play well nationally. That he also lost his last senate race by a whopping 18 points is a big negative as well.
Gingrich is erratic and shoots off at the mouth. After a few years as Speaker he was one of the most unpopular politicians in America, and for good reason.
Paul is a kook.
Perry can't talk.
I liked Bachmann but you can't run for the White House having won nothing bigger than a House seat. She also just comes across as too extreme (ideologically I am more aligned with her than anyone else in the field).
Cain was refreshing but clearly not ready for prime time.
Not to worry, I'll be back....
With all of the outstanding microbreweries in the country, I trust that you're only drinking American brewskis, me-buck.
You don't like beer brewed by foreign devils, Will? Sounds to me like Will is in favor of denying brewers in poor countries a way out of poverty. Next thing you know he'll be suggesting we smack a jingoistic tariff on foreign beer that will impoverish their brewers even more.
Will - Not, I'm one of those guys that relish both the great American micro-brews as well as the great foreign brews. Same with my favorite vintages.
Always good to have Tom the Redhunter around. Wondered where you'd been Tom. Not much activity at your site for a long time.
But c'mon dude. Your conservative defeated a liberal in Virginia? I'd hardly call that a victory for the ages. I'll have my revenge when Obama carries Virginia this November.
No offense to RN and his great state of Massachusettes, where my Mom's family is from, but that Sam Adams beer is swill.
I'll stick with the wine if I ever get back out there and look you up RN.
It's good to be back, Truth. I enjoy your blog even though we disagree on a lot. Or maybe because of it. It's good to get an opposing view.
Virginia is not as solidly red as you imagine, Truth. Remember that we have two Democrat Senators and went for Obama in 2010. It goes back and forth.
Moving on from the Republicans:
I think that intellectual honesty demands that we admit that Obama has some real weaknesses, so let's go through them right quick:
His biggest problem is the economy. With growth anemic and unemployment hovering at around 9 percent, he won't be asking "are you better off now than you were four years ago?"
Every poll shows that ObamaCare (officially The Affordable Health Care Act) is unpolular among a majority of Americans. This is significant because it is his signature piece of legislation, and he won't be able to use it in the election.
He has lost a lot of support from the left because of weakness in not getting the single-payer plan they wanted in the health care bill, and failure to get things like cap and trade enacted as well.
Then there was the 2010 election; Obama can't claim that he was so popular that his party was rewarded in the mid-terms.
There's more, but it's time for bed. Good night!
you should feel complimented, Joe. it shows that i am listening to the words you use analyzing them as they deserve.
you might try it sometime and give some meaning to your words instead of using them to demean others
I've never uttered the word, "jingoistic", wd (yet another reckless accusation). And I'm in favor of buying American when it's possible to. I'm just objecting to the compulsory component and the simplemindedness of protectionism as a first resort.
Will: I've never uttered the word, "jingoistic", wd (yet another reckless accusation).
Perhaps you never "uttered" it, but you did type it.
I was referencing a comment of yours on your blog, so I don't see how what I wrote is in any way a "reckless accusation".
Show me where I typed, "jingoistic".
So, you're saying you forgot? Check the link... On January 3, 2012 at 8:04 PM you said...
"Let's smack a jingoistic tariff on them and impoverish them even more. That'll work - NOT!"
I stand corrected. I did say it (must have been quite peeved). I must have been channeling dmarks or something.
